FIELDVIEW
DESCRIPTION
Fieldview is a CFD post-processing software package that identifies flow features and characteristics in simulations, and allows interactive exploration of results.
Parallel Capability:
Use up to 3 processors in parallel without a license change.
USAGE
fv or fv -X (....for AFRL HAWK) - note the -X is needed to force 24-bit X-11 graphics mode instead of the default OpenGL mode which requires hardware/software support.
Interactive Graphical Demos are available for Fieldview. To start the demo, execute the following command on a graphics enabled display:
demo_fv
or
demo_fv -X (for the Linux Itanium System HAWK)
Three demos labeled 'F18 at 19AOA', 'Heat Exchangers,' or 'Rectangular Duct' should load. You will need to mouse click the 'START/RESTORE' button to load the demo. Once the demo loads, an information box will be displayed and you will be able to click on 4 buttons below each demo to perform an appropriate action.
Choosing 'Next Step' will allow the demo to end or return to the demos.
For Version 13.1 (not the default) - The start up commands for AFRL RAPTOR require the addition of the version AND "-srg" to allow software rendering to force 24-bit X-11 graphics mode instead of the default OpenGL mode which requires hardware/software support.

An Interactive restart file can be loaded from the GUI by choosing "File->Open Restart-> Complete and choose the file install path for:
/app2/fieldvie/x86_64/fieldview13.1/fv/fv_and_restarts/animate_streamlines.dat
